Good Friday 2021
The Good Friday Happening is an event where young people enjoy a range of activities all connected to the Easter story. From 10am until 4pm each hour on the hour we will share a range of activities with some thoughts and prayers to celebrate the story of Easter. The Denial

Point to Ponder
Peter was one of Jesus’ first disciples. He spent a lot of time traveling with Jesus. He watched him perform miracles and heard him teach amazing lessons to huge crowds of people. Jesus was one of Peter’s best friends.
Who is your best friend? What are your favourite things to do together?
But, Peter made a mistake and turned against Jesus.
When have you made a mistake? Have you ever been unkind to your friend? How did you make it better?
When Jesus was arrested, Peter followed to find out what was happening. Some people saw Peter hanging around and asked him if he was one of Jesus’ disciples. Peter said he didn’t even know Jesus!
Why do you think Peter said he didn’t know his best friend?
The Jewish leaders wanted to kill Jesus. They hated him and Peter was afraid that they would kill him, too.
But, the story doesn’t end here. When Jesus rose from the dead, he visited Peter and told him he forgave him for his mistake and gave him a second chance.
Think of a time you have forgiven someone for doing something that hurt you? How did it make you feel?

Prayer
Dear God,
we thank you that you are always with us.
When we see the sun in the sky,
we remember you are there.
When we feel the rain on our faces,
we remember you are there.
When we watch the birds flying,
we remember you are there,
When we sing and pray together,
we remember you are there.
When it is dark and we feel alone,
help us to remember you are there.
Amen.
