This Sunday our Young Church took centre stage as we celebrated Pentecost. The children ran into the church as wind and fire with our congregation helping create a colourful picture of the spirit helping us move forward.
We spoke about mental health as part of mental health awareness week looking at how we can all feel stressed and take on too much even just in our church life’s.
Elaine, Young Church leader, who lead the sermon slot spoke again about her childhood. She told us about the feeling of being wrapped up in a thick duvet with a hot water bottle and a teddy bear. Bears were handed out among the congregation, we compared how comforting the bear can be to a child (or adult) to the comforting feeling of being wrapped in the love of the Holy Spirit. Huge thanks to Elaine, Stuart and the Young Church for putting together a great thought provoking and visual service.
Thanks must also go to Canon Oliver O’Donovan for preciding over the service for us we are blessed to have such help during this time of interregnum.
We would also like to thank the YF for putting together the streamers and decorations to add to vibrant red alter dressings.
