Tonight at YF+ we had discussions around a reading from Matthew where Jesus lists his disciples with their job, family name, place they came from and from our discussions came these quotes:
“Community makes church special
We can all play our part in looking after everyone
We are not defined by one thing, we should get to know people as more than that
The community is what makes church church
We shouldn’t be putting people into boxes”
These are some of the things our young people said and they were so inspirational we felt their words deserved to be shared wider and reach more than just those in the group. Our whole church could benefit from a reminder to check in with a few more people, to get to know someone deeper than their job or age, and if we all do this we will be a stronger church and community.
