When we say that the church “Welcomes You” we mean it. This is shown in no better way than our extensive and welcoming programmes for Youth & Children.
The church is for everybody of all ages, and all are involved at Holy Trinity! Joint services, events, shows, meals and groups bring everyone from all ages together. We also have space for the younger among us to Grow and Explore in themselves and in faith. The Young Church and the Youth Fellowship make a big part of our church family and are always open to new people and ideas.
We also run activities for our younger members as a group, as in this Good Friday “Happening”.
However, we realise that needs change with age, and provide regular specific activities that cater for both children and older young people.
Members of both the Young Church and the Youth Fellowship have significant input in the planning and leading of our regular all–age worship – and the YF have been known to take over whole services at other times, presenting the congregation with readings, music, dramas and sermons.
On the social side, as well as organising their own social events such as the annual Epiphany Party for the Young Church, or frequent outings and the occasional sleep-over for the Youth Fellowship, both groups are heavily involved in the social life of the wider congregation. In particular, the annual Panto, involving members of the Young Church, Youth Fellowship and ‘Old Church’ is always very well received (if not always quite so well rehearsed!)
We have a thriving Young Church group, made up of children from about the age of two up to about the age of 12, and also a crèche for the very young.
These meet during term-times at 11.00am in the Church Hall. All children are brought into church for a blessing at the time of Communion and afterwards one of the clergy will have a chat with them about what they’ve been doing. The children experience everything from Art, Treasure Hunts, Music and Games.
The Youth Fellowship or YF has been running for decades and is a major part of our church family.
The YF is for young adults half way through P7 and upwards. We meet (usually) in the Church Hall every Sunday during term-times at 6.15pm for around an hour and a half. Activities range from silly but fun games, we also have days out, adventures and lots of eating! For up to date info and consent forms click here for our YF page.
We have partnerships with Local Episcopal Churches as we believe it’s important to bring the one or two young adults together into a much larger active community.
We are also heavily involved with the Provincial Youth Committee (we currently have all 3 of the youth delegates for the Diocese) who run events all over Scotland including the Scottish Episcopal Churches Youth Week ‘Glenalmond’. Click here for the SEC Provincial Youth page.
All are welcome whether you are a member of a Local Church or not The YF is for young adults half way through P7 and upwards. For more info talk to our Youth Leader Andrew Wedge via our: How to Contact Us page or via Facebook.
