Involvement in services
There are a variety of ways in which people can be involved in our worship services. At our main Sunday Service at 11.00 am lay people read lessons and lead our prayers of intercessions. In addition, those who can sing are invited to think about joining the choir which, again, sings at our main Sunday service and on a variety of other occasions.
At most of our services we have a server. Servers can be male or female and from secondary school age upwards. Their task is to help set up the altar for communion before the service and to remain up front by the altar throughout the service in order to assist as needed. Training is given for this role.
Also at most of our services, we have one or more sidespeople. The sidesperson’s job is welcome people to church and make sure they have everything they need. Sidespeople also take forward the collection and the bread and wine to the altar during the service, and generally make sure that things run smoothly.
And of course we need to make the sanctuary beautiful, so we have a dedicated team who are skilful with flowers.
If you’re interested in being involved in any of these ways please speak to one of the clergy in the first instance.

Congregational social events
Our social life is important to us, and there are a number of congregational social events during the year including our Burns Supper, our Harvest Supper, our pancake party and a variety of other events. All are welcome to attend these events and there are many opportunities to help in preparing for them. Details of the events and of the help needed are published in the weekly pew sheets as appropriate.
Refreshments after church
Refreshments are served in the hall after our main service at 11.00 am on Sunday and after our 10.15 am service on Thursday. All are invited to stay and this is an opportunity to meet people and have a chat.
